How a window cleaning company moved from 4.1 to 4.6 stars in 90 days
A window cleaning company in the Midlands had been operating for four years. The business served a mix of residential customers and a handful of small commercial properties. By the time the owner looked properly at his Google listing, he had 43 reviews and a 4.1 star rating.
The 4.1 reflected a pattern he recognised once he looked at it more carefully. His most negative reviews had come from customers he could name: one job where the water had left marks on newly painted render, one where he had run late without calling ahead. The rest came from customers he could not identify at all. His regular clients, the ones who rebooked every six weeks and had been with the business for years, had not left a single review between them.
He had no process for asking. When a job finished, he moved to the next one.
He added a single automated text message to the end of every job. It went out within an hour of completion, thanked the customer by name, and included a direct link to the Google review page. No incentive was offered. One message.
In the following 90 days, the business received 40 new reviews. Almost all of them came from existing regular customers. The rating moved from 4.1 to 4.6.
Google Business Profile data showed enquiry volume increasing by 18 percent in the six months that followed the rating change. Before the reviews, the owner was receiving approximately 22 enquiries per month. By month six, that had reached 26.
At his standard conversion rate of 45 percent and an average job value of £120, the four additional monthly enquiries produced roughly two extra jobs per month. Over six months, that was 12 additional jobs and approximately £1,440 in revenue that could be traced directly back to the rating improvement.
The work had not changed. The pricing had not changed. The review request took less than ten minutes to configure and has run automatically since.
The 4.1 rating was not an accurate reflection of the business. The 4.6 rating is closer to one.
Reputation Spark in EveryCatch handles the review request automatically after every job. Book a free discovery call to see how it works.
