Client portal file share notifications

Client portal file share notifications

July 30, 2026

Your contacts now see instant alerts as soon as an admin shares a file with them through the EveryCatch client portal. Real-time notifications appear in the client portal on the web and in the white label mobile app, so new documents stand out right away. Each contact can also control these alerts and update their file share notification settings directly in their client portal preferences.

What changed

File share notifications for contacts

When an admin shares a file with a contact through the EveryCatch client portal, the contact now automatically receives a notification that a new file is ready for them to view or download.

Manage notification preferences

Each contact can decide whether to receive notifications for shared files by updating their notification preferences inside the EveryCatch client portal. This gives your clients direct control over how they get alerted when you share new documents with them.

Improved client communication

You can keep clients updated whenever you share important documents, contracts, invoices, or other files. Automatic notifications help prevent missed updates and make it easier for clients to quickly find and review what you share with them.

How to use

Share a file with a contact

  • Open a contact record.
  • Open the Files section from the right-side panel.
  • Upload or select a file.
  • Turn on the Upload to client portal option.
  • Save the file.

After you share the file, the contact receives an in-app notification and, if they have it turned on, a push notification on their device.

Manage notification preferences (client)

  • Log in to the client portal.
  • Go to Settings → Notification preferences.
  • Turn in-app and push notifications on or off.
  • Save your preferences.

Why this feature

Many businesses rely on the EveryCatch client portal to share key documents with their clients. Previously, clients had to log in and manually check for new files. With file share notifications, clients are informed as soon as new files are available, which improves visibility, reduces missed communication, and creates a smoother experience for both you and your clients.

Notes

  • Notifications are sent when an admin shares a file with a contact through the EveryCatch client portal.
  • Contacts can manage their notification preferences from the client portal settings.
  • Supported notification channels: in-app notifications and push notifications.
  • Available on both the client portal (web) and the white label mobile app.
